What is advanced Electrolysis?

Advanced Electrolysis (sometimes called advanced cosmetic procedures, or ACP) uses a very fine sterile probe and a tiny, precisely controlled current to treat small skin blemishes. The blemish is gently cauterised or dried out, then simply fades or drops away as the skin heals over the following days. Because it is so precise, it is ideal for delicate areas such as the eyelids, neck and underarms.

What can be treated?

  • Skin tags – on the neck, eyelids, underarms, chest, groin or anywhere on the body
  • Milia – small, hard white bumps, often around the eyes and cheeks
  • Thread veins (broken capillaries) – on the face, nose and cheeks
  • Cherry angiomas (Campbell de Morgan spots) – small red blood spots
  • Age spots and sun spots
  • Seborrhoeic keratosis – raised, waxy or warty-looking growths
  • Dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN) – small dark spots on the face
  • Xanthelasma – yellowish deposits around the eyes
  • Hairs growing from moles – with a letter from your GP confirming the mole is safe to treat

We will only treat blemishes that are clearly benign. If you have a mole or mark that has changed in size, shape or colour, bleeds or itches, please see your GP first.

What to expect

Your free consultation

We will look at your blemishes, check they are suitable to treat, explain exactly what will happen and talk you through aftercare.

Your treatment

Most treatments take just a few minutes. You may feel a brief stinging or warm sensation – most clients find it very tolerable. Afterwards the area may be a little red, and small blemishes form a tiny scab or crust that falls away naturally, usually within 1–2 weeks. Larger blemishes or thread veins sometimes need a follow-up session.

Aftercare

Keep the area clean and dry, do not pick any scabs, avoid make-up on the area for 24–48 hours, and wear SPF 30 or higher to prevent pigmentation while the skin heals. We will give you full aftercare advice on the day.

Advanced Electrolysis FAQs

What is advanced Electrolysis?

Advanced Electrolysis uses a very fine sterile probe and a tiny controlled current to remove small benign skin blemishes such as skin tags, milia, thread veins and cherry angiomas, usually in one short appointment.

How much does skin tag removal cost?

Blemish removal at All About You in Orpington, including skin tags, costs £65 for up to 15 minutes or £90 for up to 30 minutes. Longer treatments are priced on the day. Your consultation is free.

Does skin tag removal hurt?

Most clients feel only a brief sting or warmth and find it very tolerable. Most treatments take just a few minutes.

How long does it take to heal?

The treated area may be a little red afterwards. Small blemishes form a tiny scab that falls away naturally, usually within 1 to 2 weeks.

Can you remove skin tags from eyelids?

Yes. Advanced Electrolysis is very precise, so it is ideal for delicate areas such as the eyelids, neck and underarms.

Do I need to see a GP first?

Not for common benign blemishes like skin tags or milia. If a mole or mark has changed in size, shape or colour, bleeds or itches, please see your GP first. For hairs growing from moles we need a GP letter confirming the mole is safe to treat.

Looking for permanent hair removal?

Natalie and Charlie also offer Electrolysis hair removal in Orpington – the only truly permanent method of hair removal, suitable for all hair colours and skin types.
